Brighton and Sussex Jewish Students Society
As the name suggests - our Jsoc is a collaboration between Brighton and Sussex Universities. With about 100 members and an average of 30 attending Friday night dinners, the Jewish society is going from strength to strength.

Regular socials include cinema trips, bowling and themed drunken parties! Always very popular, these are great events to meet other Jewish people on campus, as well as in the community.

Brighton and Hove have a strong Jewish community, with Liberal, Reform and United Synagogues. All are very welcoming, with students often being invited to events.

Kosher food is slightly more difficult to come by than living in NW London, but it is available if you look hard enough! There is a big Tescos in Hove, selling a selection of kosher products including kosher meat.

Our Community Rabbi and his family are very friendly and welcoming. Don't worry...you will never have nowhere to go on a friday night! We are hopeful that next academic year will see the opening of a brand new purpose-designed Jsoc student centre to hold our Friday night dinners. It'll have space to relax, watch a movie or catch up on work, and is sure to be the focal point for Jewish student life in Brighton and a great place to meet new people.

If you would like any more information about our Jsoc please don't hesitate to email and someone will get back to you.
